Product Information:
Biotin strengthens hoof and horn quality and ensures good condition of hoof and wall.
Healthy and strong hooves are essential for smooth horse movement. Nutrition, the soil on which horses walk, and the effects of moisture and dryness affect hoof and horn quality.
Horn tissue, like skin and hair, consists of fibrous proteins (keratin) made up of cells called keratinocytes. When these cells die, a fibrous network is left behind: the hoof horn. The resilience of this network determines the quality of the hooves. Biotin is a water-soluble and sulfur-containing essential vitamin (H or B7), which is present in nature only in very low concentration.
Biotin helps maintain hoof structure and strengthens hooves. It improves the condition of the crown rim, rays and hoof balls. In addition, it nourishes and protects the skin.
Dosage
Mix 1 level measuring spoon (=13 g.) per day with the concentrate or slop, preferably divided over two daily periods. In case of poor hoof condition, double the dosage for 4 to 6 months and then switch to the normal dosage. We recommend providing Vitella Horse Care Vitamins & Minerals in addition to Biotin. For hoof care, we recommend the herbal hoof oil.
